Raw Jackfruit Tawa Pulav!
(PALAMUSU - in Tamil)

A simple yet wholesome meal!!

Ingredients:
  1. Basmathi rice - 1 cup
  2. Raw Jackfruit (PALAMUSU) - 1 Medium Size
  3. Onions - 2 Medium Size
  4. Tomatoes - 2 Medium Size
  5. Chili powder - 2 tsp
  6. Pavbhaji masala - 2 tsp
  7. Jeera - 1 tsp
  8. Green chilly - 1 Medium Size
  9. Curd - 2 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste.
  11. For garnishing :
  12. Chopped coriander - 2 tsp
  13. Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
  14. Cashew Nuts - 10 Nos.
Method :
Cook Basmathi rice along with turmeric powder & raw garam masal (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom & bay leaves) separately in a vessel and keep it aside.
Cook the raw jackfruit until tender.
In a kadai, add ghee, jeera, green chili, onions, tomatoes and sauté till they become soft. Then add Pavbhaji masala, Chili powder, salt, curd and cooked jackfruit, and cook till all the ingredients come together. Switch off the stove then cover & leave it for some time.
After 3-4 minutes, add the cooked rice to the raw jackfruit gravy and mix well. Garnish it with chopped coriander, kasuri methi & fried nuts.

Tasty and healthy pulav is ready to be served along with Raitha.
